The folly proposes a soft inner world which transports people to a strange contemplative place. Constantly shifting in texture, shape, and color as one moves around and into the folly, the piece creates an alluring dynamism beckoning to visitors. The spherical exterior slowly unwraps to create spaces for people to slide in and peek glimpses of the soft inner belly. The exterior is clad in reclaimed shingles giving the exterior a protective quality. The peaceful soft interior is shielded from everything. The natural earth spills out across the shingles giving clues to the inner nature. The forms inside develop a landscape drifting between natural and synthetic. Known textures and smells in new configurations and relationships. Earth bulging up to cradle people and create places to sit, lay, and listen. The sky above framed by the pillowy shapes. Visitors become engulfed in color, fuzzy ground, and bright sky.
